Back!

So I’ve clearly neglected this little site I like to call my blog. I blame it on my past layout: it came to a point that I didn’t even want to look at it anymore. To make matters worse, my stupidity accidentally installed a new Tumblr theme, overwriting the customized HTML and CSS I labored over early this year. So I had to revert to the original uninspired layout and it was thus settled that I wasn’t going to touch the blog unless I gave it a makeover.

Now I’ve given it a makeover, it’s been three months after all.

Going over the entries in my archive, it appears I was most active on the blog during summer vacation. And I abruptly stopped updating when school started (June 8). Office work and scholastic stuff caught up rather fast that I barely found the time to sit down and write.

But that’s the irony: the reason I enjoyed blogging a couple years ago was that it was my distraction from the insanity of teaching and studying at the same time. I made time to blog, because when the going gets tough, there’s always something interesting to write about. Whether it be a funny classroom encounter or an enraged student’s mother who unthinkingly confronted me because she thought I’d insulted her daughter. Oh wait, I didn’t write about that one.

So anyway I’m trying to go back to that state of mind. Plus, it’s my last year in grad school — which means bloody thesis time — and I guess a wonderful way to cope (and whip my writing skills into shape) is to write here.
