Lorem Ipsum!
I realize I haven’t been blogging as much as when I was an undergraduate and even when I was new to the job. I think it’s partly because I’ve gotten busier at work. But at the same time I think I’ve lost the interest in writing long entries. How ironic that my decline in blogging happened right after I excitedly got my own domain in 2008!
And it’s not just blogging; I realize I haven’t been too keen to document my days since 2008. I used to take a lot of photographs and keep a journal but somehow I also got tired of doing both. Changing interests/changing times I guess. But I really have a feeling it’s because of my narrowing attention span. Before I used to watch a lot of movies and TV series and search for good music online; now I find that I barely have the time to do any of them. But one thing has remained constant: my addiction to the web. And more so now that I have my own laptop, Kaiser.
The problem is, I feel less creative now than I was when I was taking pictures and writing prolifically. So one of my resolutions this 2010 is to get my creative groove back by revisiting these hobbies. For one, I’m doing the 365 Days project which forces me to be creative every day this year. And I’ve also moved to Tumblr, if you’ve noticed. Wordpress is great but I think microblogging is a more realistic way for me to sustain my site. Often I have good material to write about but it never materializes into an entry because I’d consider it an effort to actually write it. I guess this is where microblogging becomes a more viable option for me to keep ze blog alive. Wordpress is excellent for content management but Tumblr seems a better platform to host morsels of randomness, and how we all love to be random now.
So there, I guess this is the mandatory welcome entry for the website reborn. Welcome to Aldorithm! (I hope we don’t know each other.)
