Day 1 Outtake
In 2005 I decided to take one photo of myself every day just so I could track my “changing” (I first typed “aging” LOL) over the year. I would then print the day’s photo on our deskjet, paste it on a notebook, and log the key events of the day. It was more of a documentation than a creative exercise. I was successful for the first few months of the year and then hell week happened (I was still in school) so I wasn’t able to continue with it.
This year I’ve decided to do the project again, and perhaps exercise a little more “artistry” in the process. It’s like hitting two birds with one stone: I’ll get to document my days and I’ll also get to flex my creative muscles out of atrophy!
As you know, there are many ways to proceed with the project. Actually there are no hard and fast rules except produce a picture every day for 365 days. A 365er may choose to shoot one picture per day (subject doesn’t have to be himself). Or he could choose to turn out a self-portrait every day (365er doesn’t have to be the photographer). Definitely, I intend to shoot at least one picture per day but at the same time I’m asking my friends to take a picture of me when I feel like it. But I’ll only be uploading my 365 self-portraits (on Facebook) and the outtakes (here). Of course I’m not narcissistic!

Photo was taken outside the house just before JB and I headed to Olga’s place to pay our condolences to her grandfather who died on New Year’s Day.
