Day 4 Outtake
I LOVE GINGERBREAD! (Thanks Ma’am Mia!!!)
Gingerbread is not common in bakeshops here (at least I think it’s not) so you can imagine my excitement when I found out one of the Starbucks Christmas drinks in 2006 was gingerbread-inspired. Naturally, I enjoyed the drink but most of my friends didn’t seem to fancy it.
The first time I had gingerbread was in 1990 or 1991 when my mum took me to Pizza Hut. The kiddie meal had two options for dessert: ice cream or a gingerbread man. I didn’t know what gingerbread was so I picked it; ever since I’ve been a fan! I even had a storybook about a gingerbread man that escaped his baker. “Run, run as fast as you can. You can’t catch me, I’m the gingerbread man.” Ah, memories!
