Day 18 Outtakes
Continuous frames of myself against the wall in my room. This shirt was purchased in 2006 but worn for the first time today. Funny thing is, it was a size smaller four years ago so I couldn’t wear it. Today, it’s a size bigger haha!
In other news, my phone is slightly faster now that I’ve deleted the 27,XXX messages in my inbox and sent folders. I don’t know if it’s psychological but the unit feels lighter too. (I read somewhere that an iPod filled to the brim weighs more than one without any data.) Feels liberating to be rid of a year’s worth of excess baggage in the form of SMS!
Speaking of the cellphone, I’m considering getting a flip/slide phone soon. In the past decade that I’ve owned a cellphone, my unit has always been the candy bar. As you know, this cellphone model is convenient, practical, and functional but I’ve always thought flip/slide phones were more, what’s the word, stylish? Less practical, hence more interesting? I started to think about getting a new unit when I *accidentally* dropped my phone hard on the concrete street in our village. I’d just entered the gate when the security guard unusually stopped me to ask for credits. I said okay and continued walking home. In the process of switching from MP3 player to cellphone, the phone escaped my grip and tumbled to the ground. I paused in shock because that was the first time ever that my cellphone had fallen THAT hard on concrete. (Piece of trivia: the first time my phone dropped to the floor was because of a clumsy Devcom student. Interestingly, my MP3 player has never weathered a fall!)
The phone froze and malfunctioned for an hour. That was after I tried to send the security guard credits which didn’t push through anyway because we were subscribers of different networks.
Now the edges of my phone are scathed. I asked Sherwin the next day, Why is it that I feel all of this is the guard’s fault?
