I’m Sorry

…but I just didn’t get it.

I was on the treadmill when it was Siobhan’s turn. I thought her performance was very reminiscent of Adam Lambert but I didn’t like her very much this week. Must she screech everytime? Granted, Adam was my favorite last year AND he too was quite a screecher but truthfully I never was a fan of that *skill* of his. I think Siobhan is interesting and will make it far into the competition this year… even though she seems to be waving her freak flag too much, as if to say “look me, I’m different different!”

I was a little surprised that the judges were in love with this performance, although Kara did say Siobhan reminded her of Adam and his theatrics. Some of my Facebook contacts also praised her, making me scratch my head all the more. So I watched the tape back video again because I was running at 9.8km/h when I watched it the first time. I have to say…

I was right about her performance. I still don’t get it.

Overall, the first show on the big stage was pretty okay but nothing stellar like years past. Of the previous seasons, I thought seasons 3, 5, 7, and maybe 8 had an incredible Top 12 night. Or maybe I just wasn’t into the theme last night. When I found out it was going to be The Rolling Stones I thought to myself, what Rolling Stones songs do I know? And embarrassingly, so embarrassingly, I couldn’t think of ONE to save my life. (Though later I did realize I had ONE Rolling Stones song on my iTunes: Sympathy for the Devil.) Insane!
