Day 18 - A Song that You Wish You Heard on the Radio

This entry a part of the 30 Day Song Challenge

* * *

When I was in college I co-hosted a non-mainstream show on LBFM 97.4, UPLB’s college radio. My partner and I took our program preparation seriously. It basically entailed scouting for amazing tracks/artists that didn’t get the airplay (we felt) they deserved. So yeah, I guess most of the songs we played were those we wish we heard on the radio!

If my partner and I still hosted the show today, this would definitely be at the top of the playlist:

Feel
Brothertiger
Vision Tunnels [EP]
(Released May 2010)

I like to call this song my dreamy escape because I find myself drifting away to the music whenever I listen to it. There’s also poetry in the words, with lines like “Waking up the sun is in your eyes / You feel the morning catch you in the light.” It’s the perfect aural companion when you’re driving home after a long day. But y’know, there’s a certain romance when your favorite song plays on the radio, rather than from your CD/MP3 player. It’s the unexpected moment when you hear the first beat and you go “I love this song!” that makes radio a truly wonderful medium. And how wonderful it would be to one day catch this song playing on my favorite radio station.
