Get Me
Everything but the Girl
Amplified Heart
(Released June 1994)
Well, I love plenty of albums but Everything but the Girl’s Amplified Heart easily takes the cake as my favorite. I also happen to think this is the duo’s best record of the 11 they’ve released. The funny thing is, I didn’t always love Amplified Heart.
I was 12 when I first heard EBTG’s Get Me in the movie Pie in the Sky (one of my favorite movies ever). Anne Heche and Josh Charles played out a beautiful and natural love scene with this music in the background. Check it:

What can I say, I was really into poprock at the time.
Fast-forward to present and I still don’t have an original copy of EBTG’s Amplified Heart, which is my go-to album when I can’t find anything nice to listen to. This 26-year-old-kid now loves every song in the album. It’s a shame I never got around to getting a CD copy back in the day because this album is quite hard to find now.
