King of Fruits
So I’ve seen signs that warn of falling debris, rocks, and “objects” in general. But I’ve never seen one like this:

Don’t you just love it — y’know, watching out for falling durians? This sign at the Bukit Batok Nature Park, Singapore successfully stopped me in my tracks. But I was too busy shooting pictures of the breathtaking scenery that I was not able to actively beware of this fruit that may come afalling.

Such a polarizing fruit, this durian! Personally, I’m not a fan of it. But truth be told, save for the smell, I could’t tell between a durian and a jackfruit, or a durian and a soursop! This promdi kid don’t know much about plants/fruits, such a shame! In Singapore there are many street stalls that sell durian (to my mum’s delight). The ones in the picture above were from a stall near Bugis Junction and sold for three for $20 (~P660).
Unfortunately, many hotels forbid guests to bring the fruit inside. And it’s not like you can smuggle it in, not with its distinctive “fragrance.”
