A couple of things:
I’ve been on a Charmed marathon for the past month. It’s one of the few shows (with considerable staying power) that I’ve seen from the first to the last episode. Unfortunately, I barely remember what happened in the last three seasons, mainly because I got too lazy to record the show toward the end. So I wasn’t able to re-watch the episodes like I did in the first few seasons.
Yes, I could just easily watch the last three seasons, but I thought it would be nice to start from the top!
Phoebe was my favorite before the show aired. But after watching my first Charmed episode way back in 1999 I switched to Team Piper. And then to Team Paige when Prue was killed off and Piper became the eldest sister and a mother.
Back to Phoebe. I don’t know how the show would have been received with Lori Rom playing Phoebe. The unaired pilot starring Lori as Phoebe is on YouTube and fans of the show have strong opinions about her portrayal of the character. I think Alyssa Milano was perfectly cast for the role.
I’d always considered the first two seasons as my favorites and season three as one of my least favorites. But watching it over, season two was not as strong as I thought and season three was actually pretty good.
There are several loopholes in the story. And it would be a waste of time to enumerate them because the premise of the show is anything but scientific.
My favorite character is the Seer (as pictured). I forgot how much I enjoyed her lines when I watched season four again!
An observation: we fans have always believed the show progressed based on the decisions and actions of the Charmed Ones. Well, watching it back again, I have discovered that it was, in fact, the men in their lives that directed the plot. Blame it all on COLE, Leo, Wyatt, Chris, etc.
And most importantly: I didn’t know that the Apple logo was upside-down when you flipped open the top of an earlier notebook model (see picture).
